Alonissos Tuna
Alonissos tuna is a premium product originating from the island of Alonissos in the Northern Aegean. Alonissos is home to the largest mixed-type marine protected area (including both sea and land) in the Mediterranean, part of the Natura 2000 network. Many activities are strictly prohibited in this area, there are for instance, no agricultural operations that could lead to pesticide runoff into the sea. As a result, the waters around the island are proven to be exceptionally clean, allowing the tuna to thrive in a pristine and healthy environment. Alonissos tuna is only packaged in glass containers.
