Green Halkidiki Olive Oil​

Chalkidiki’s olive oil (Agoureleo) is another exceptional product
originating from Chalkidiki that was recently granted Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status. This is an Extra Virgin Olive Oil produced from the unripe (green) fruit of the local cultivars “Chondroelia Chalkidikis” or “Chalkidiki”, both of which belong to the species Olea europaea. It is derived from the early-harvested olives and the wild olive tree (oleaster or kotinos).
From a scientific and nutritional standpoint, Agoureleo holds a superior position in the olive oil hierarchy due to its exceptionally high content of natural antioxidants, particularly polyphenols, which are known to offer protective health benefits.
Its color ranges from vibrant green to bright yellow-green, while the aroma is defined by a green fruity profile, with subtle hints of exotic fruits and fresh-cut grass. The taste is distinctively bitter and pungent, with a mild lingering bitterness that is characteristic of its phenolic richness.
