The 10+2 Santorini Conference on Systems Medicine and Personalised Health & Therapy took place from May 26 to 29, 2026, in Santorini, Greece. Bringing together leading scientists and experts in medicine and pharmacogenetics, the conference aimed to foster scientific discussions, facilitate the exchange of ideas, and promote collaboration among healthcare professionals. The conference programme covered a wide range of topics, including personalised medicine, pharmacogenetics, functional genomics, nutrition, obesity, and neurodegenerative diseases.
The Flagship Initiative for Sustainable Agri-Food Systems (https://susagrifood.gr/) was represented by Konstantinos Rouskas, a biologist and postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), who presented a scientific poster.
The research aimed to investigate individual variability in the response of people living with obesity to a dietary intervention primarily designed to improve adherence to a sustainable Mediterranean-style diet and promote weight loss.
By combining artificial intelligence-based digital tools with multi-omics approaches (microbiome and metabolomics), the study identified molecular signatures associated with differential responses to the dietary intervention. These findings open up new opportunities for developing future strategies in sustainable, personalised nutrition and medicine.
